Aggie Weekly Notes 4/7-4/12

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State athletics department continues to have plenty of events for Aggie fans to follow this week. Log on to the Official Website of NM State Athletics at for all your Aggie schedules, rosters, and recaps.


The New Mexico State softball team (30-11, 6-0 WAC) continues WAC play by hosting Missouri-Kansas City for a thre-game series this weekend.  Game one is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start on Friday while the series caps off with a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.  The final game will also be televised by AggieVision on Comcast Cable.



The New Mexico State baseball team heads to Seattle, Wash. for a three-game Western Athletic Conference series versus Seattle U, who is currently atop the WAC standings, Friday-Sunday, April 10-12. Friday’s game starts at 6 p.m. (MT), Saturday’s at 3 p.m. (MT) and Sunday’s series finale has a 1 p.m. (MT) first pitch. Game one of the series can be heard online at and game’s two and three on the radio in Las Cruces on KRUX 91.5 FM as well as on the Internet.  Adam Young will be giving the play-by-play action for all three games.  In-game score updates are available on Twitter @NMStateAggies and @NMSU_Baseball


After a dual-match against Loyola Marymount Monday at 11 a.m. (MT) in Los Angeles, the New Mexico State men’s tennis team will look to win the Western Athletic Conference regular season championship this weekend. The Aggies travel to Chicago for a two-game WAC cluster. On Friday, NM State will face Seattle U at noon (MT) before squaring off against host Chicago State on Saturday at 11 a.m. (MT).



The New Mexico State women’s tennis team will conclude the 2015 regular season at home against 1-10 rival UTEP, after falling just short of winning the Western Athletic Conference regular season title. The Aggies will host UTEP Saturday at 2 p.m. (MT).



The New Mexico State women’s golf team is set to play in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, Monday and Tuesday, April 6-7 at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, a 6,186 yard, par 72 course, in Maricopa, Ariz.  Live scoring is available for this tournament online at Results will also be posted at the official website of Aggie Athletics


The New Mexico State outdoor track and field team will travel for the second consecutive weekend to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete in the University of New Mexico Team Scored. The Aggies finished first in the Don Kirby meet hosted by UNM on April 4 totaling 132.5 points over second-place, Western Athletic Conference competitor, Grand Canyon (113 points) and 10 other teams.
