EL PASO, Texas –New Mexico State tallied a trio of first place performances Saturday, at the UTEP Invitational at Kidd Field.
The Aggies competed against the host Miners, Rice University, South Plains College and Universidad Autonoma de Cuidad Juarez along with other international athletes.
NM State freshman Cristina Amberg won the 1500-meters with a time of 4:52.36 securing one of the three Aggie top spots on the weekend.
Sophomore Dominique Jackson won the 400-meters marking a time of 57.30 with sophomore Katara Nelson coming in third with a time of 58.30.
In field events, freshman Kayli Farmer won the javelin throw with a toss of 42.36m (139-0).
Senior Jessica Schmitt placed second the women’s shot put event marking a 13.24m (43-5 1/4).
New Mexico State will travel to San Marcos, Texas to compete in the Texas State Bobcat Classic on April 25.
